We have trained thousands of blind and vision impaired students using our unique self-paced course materials (we had over 300 students in 1997 alone!) The following comments are a small selection from the vast amount of positive feedback we receive from the people who train with us, and from those who have purchased our courses for use elsewhere.

"My employer supplied me with a computer...and then left me to my own devices to learn how to operate it! After 12 months of frustration, trial and error and despair I heard of these courses from a friend in Western Australia and am really thrilled with the one that I elected to do first (Microsoft Word 6.0). They are self-paced so I am able to study in time available between work duties, the lessons are in braille and I am really amazed at the many capabilities of my computer's word processing package of which I had no previous knowledge. I am finding that I am able to complete tasks as quick, if not quicker, than my sighted colleagues. My personal experience is that these courses fill a huge gap in making computer technology more accessible for people who are blind or vision impaired."
Joan, South Australia

"I prefer the self-paced courses because they give me the freedom to work at my own level. As I encounter a problem, before moving on I am able to work through these situations more thoroughly without the rest of the class being held up."
Paul, age 28

"A fantastic course, well put together and supported by experienced staff. I found the self-paced learning style an excellent teaching method."
Janet, age 31

"At present I am working as a Receptionist and Switchboard Operator. After my probationary period of three months I was able to continue my studies in the courses Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, Windows 95 and Internet Explorer. Without these courses I would not be able to carry out my duties. I believe that the courses are very valuable to people who are vision impaired who wish to work in a computer environment."
Cameron, age 31

"Very much in tune with my needs and the way I reason on things. Hence the training I receive is beneficial"
Marcia, age 41

"I cannot speak too highly of the courses ... and all things considered I appear to be managing reasonably well."
Joan, age 77

"The course made me feel less overawed by computers."
Lesley, age 49

"The training was, in my opinion, highly suitable for people with various degrees of disability. I cannot but highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn and is in my position."
Martin, age 44

"The idea of self-paced notes was very beneficial."
Tammy, age 22

"I thought the course was easy to understand, which was important to me as computers can be alarming. Every area was covered in enough depth."
Adriana, age 38

"My appetite has been whetted to the extent that further computer studies attract me."
P
aul, age 56

"Very impressed."
Dorothy, age 62

"I like the fact that this course is self-paced. I think that is the secret of its success. Not all of us can do things without study so the fact that there is no time limit is great. It gives us time to be sure we are ready for the next lot and therefore we do it better and feel happier about it because we are doing it better."
Marie, age 56
